Bridgeton council approves two July event block-off-street applications

The second application, filed by Anthony D. Parmer for Union Baptist Temple, requests temporary closures at Martin Luther King Jr. Way at Spruce Street and Pine Street at Henry Street for the pastor’s birthday and the church’s 106th anniversary celebrations on July 11 and July 12, 2026, from noon to 4 p.m. each day, pending police approval. Councilman David Gonzalez moved approval, Councilman J. Curtis Edwards seconded, and the council approved the application unanimously.
Both approvals were recorded as carried; the motions noted police approval remains pending as a condition for final authorization.
