Board schedules new-school ribbon cutting and superintendent outlines summer training model

The Wasatch County School Board announced a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new school on July 29 with an open house the following day and a separate ribbon-cutting for Mountain Land Technical College on Aug. 28.
Superintendent Gary Peterson described the district's summer professional-development model, saying staff use a "guiding coalition" approach and move district specialists into teacher-coach roles so building leaders and teacher-leaders can build capacity. He said teachers and principals attended multi-day workshops and data-driven sessions to plan for the coming year.
Board members thanked district leaders and staff for summer work to prepare for the new school opening and encouraged community attendance at the events.
The board closed the meeting after a final unanimous voice vote to adjourn.
