Councilmember Jeff Grenell acknowledges lapse in mandatory ethics training

Grenell encouraged fellow councilmembers to complete training on schedule and said he plans to undertake additional ethics instruction. Council directed administration to continue sending reminders, add ethics training reminders to council agendas before due dates and maintain certification records on the Village website. Newly elected officials must complete required training within the timeframe set after taking office.
The council did not take disciplinary action at the meeting; the discussion focused on compliance procedures and administrative reminders.
