Woodland Park board adopts annual appointments, policies and facilities application approvals

The Woodland Park Board of Education approved the annual slate of non-controversial appointments for the 2026–2027 school year, including Heather Barkenbush as Treasurer of School Monies ($4,120), Adam Weiss of Busch Law Group as Board and Labor Relations Attorney ($190 per hour), and Wielkotz & Company as auditors (approximate annual cost $26,500). The board also re-adopted its policy manual and approved curricula and textbook adoptions as required by N.J.A.C. 6:8-4.3(a)31.
Later in the agenda the board authorized Coppa Montalbano Architects to prepare and submit facilities project applications to the New Jersey Department of Education for roof replacement and restoration at Charles Olbon School (estimated $1,534,066) and Memorial School (estimated $1,746,333), to be funded through the district’s capital reserve account. Both facility project authorizations were approved by roll call vote, 8–0.
Other annual appointments and vendor approvals included Right-to-Know services, cooperative purchasing (Ed-Data), E-rate consulting, and an appointment of a school doctor. The motion to approve this grouped package passed unanimously on roll call.
