Woodland Park board hires new Beatrice Gilmore principal, approves staff hires and stipends

Board members approved a slate of personnel actions in a single motion, including summer custodial help, a district van driver appointment, and the acceptance of two part-time aide resignations effective June 30, 2026. The motion also included multiple stipend assignments for the 2026–2027 school year for roles such as play director, music and art event leads, bus and breakfast duties, house leaders and advisors.
Superintendent-level reporting and personnel recommendations were presented as part of the consent motions. The board approved a stipend of $5,500 for Christine Hiel to manage the weekly district newsletter and social media for 2026–2027, and approved hourly stipend arrangements for nurses assigned to accompany a specific student on bus routes during ESY and the regular year at $49 per hour (not to exceed one hour per day).
After returning from executive session, the board unanimously approved an additional custodial appointment: Massimo Amato for the 2026–2027 year at Step 10, salary $65,175 plus $3,900 longevity.
The personnel package was approved by roll call vote, 8–0. The meeting minutes list the eight voting members as Kim Galbraith, Shannon Marren, Andrew Mingione, Gina McQuin, Julissa Rodriguez, Jamie Zummo, Mark Salemi, and Glen Grimes; one member, David Amanullah, was recorded absent.
