Lazy Lake council ratifies invoice payments; mayor to reconcile outstanding Fort Lauderdale Fire/EMS bills

Council reviewed the payment process for the invoices and clarified that the listed items represented checks already issued and mailed; detailed financial documentation had been previously emailed to council members but was not included in the general meeting packet.
Separately, the council examined outstanding Fire and EMS invoices from the City of Fort Lauderdale, some of which date to 2022 and may have been mailed to incorrect addresses. Council members said the village believed some payments may already have been made and wanted to avoid duplicate payments.
Mayor Ray Nyhuis was directed to obtain bank statements to verify whether the payments were issued and to contact Fort Lauderdale for reconciliation. The village said it will work to resolve any misdirected invoices before issuing additional payments.
