Board approves contracts, bids and permits including conference-center lighting and project-tracking software

The board approved a number of routine and capital items on the consent and regular agendas, authorizing contracts and accepting bids needed for operations and projects.

Council approved a budget-neutral contract to adopt Civic Plus as a replacement agenda-management system and authorized ClearGov for project-tracking software to consolidate project information. The board also approved a professional services contract with American Municipal Services to provide municipal-collections services after the prior vendor closed.

Mark Levy recommended accepting the base bid from Whitfield Electric for Oxford Conference Center lighting upgrades for $446,270.70; the board approved the base bid and rejected an alternate that would have exceeded budget. The board also authorized the mayor to sign a contract with Century Construction for the rubbish-site expansion, after staff confirmed contractor insurance and payment/performance bonds.

Other actions included approval of parade permits with police-suggested route/parking modifications, preliminary plat approval with conditions for a three-lot subdivision at 294 Highway 7 North (DV Homes LLC), approval of a $3,200 test-and-balance diagnostic for City Hall HVAC, a revocable sidewalk-license for 425 Turnberry Court, final change order No. 6 conditioned on a contractor release letter, issuance of an RFQ for water/wastewater engineering services, and permission for Sunday interior work at the RISE development to meet project deadlines.
