City staff report five PFAS lawsuits involve local interests; one case moved to South Carolina

During new business at the June 12 meeting, City staff member John Musto reported that five lawsuits involving PFAS are active and that one case recently was transferred to South Carolina and is in the discovery phase. He said the remaining lawsuits are pending in multidistrict litigation.
Musto said more research is needed on geothermal permitting and regulations before the board can continue discussion about groundwater withdrawal and geothermal projects; he recommended staff consult Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) materials on water withdrawal.
