Board members discussed connections between groundwater trends and broader remediation and monitoring efforts. Paul Fleischman summarized recent activity at Wright‑Patterson Air Force Base, reporting two on‑site source‑removal projects are operational, three others are underway, and an on‑site remedial investigation is planned for 2028; off‑site work will be addressed in a supplemental investigation. The board noted that the Source Water Protection Area recently received a Promising Practice award from the National Association of County and City Health Officials and that previously canceled site tours of Carco and the Miami Well Field will be rescheduled. Members asked staff to continue coordination with Ohio EPA, the Conservancy District and federal partners to align monitoring, public communication and potential response actions.
