Board appoints Jessica Fowler as El Dorado County agricultural commissioner

Human resources staff described a statewide recruitment process that yielded few qualified applicants; Fowler was selected after two interview panels including external ag commissioners and internal executive staff. Fowler served six years as Calaveras County’s agricultural commissioner and previously worked in El Dorado County as a senior ag biologist. She holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental toxicology from UC Davis.
Fowler addressed the board and said she looks forward to serving El Dorado County. The board thanked interim assistant ag commissioner Corinne Larson for filling the role during the recruitment and unanimously approved the appointment.
