Fire chief reports fundraiser haul, tanker truck progress and pending 100% grant

A department member identified as Mark told the council the department had been interviewed in Paris, Kentucky, for a grant that, if awarded, would cover remodeling work at no local cost. Mark said officials expect to know the grant decision by the middle or end of next month and described the department’s chance of receiving the award as strong.
The council did not take formal action on purchases or capital approvals at the meeting; the report served as an operational update and status check on fundraising, equipment delivery and the pending grant.
