Albany County adopts multi-year salary schedules for elected officials and commissioners

The Board of County Commissioners of Albany County approved two resolutions on May 4, 2026 that establish multi-year salary schedules for county elected officials and for county commissioners.

Resolution 2026-009 sets salaries for specified elected officials for the period Jan. 1, 2027 through Dec. 31, 2030. The minutes list specific figures in the resolution text — for example, the county assessor, county clerk, county treasurer and clerk of district court are shown at $102,000 for 2027 and rising to $111,000 by 2030; the county and prosecuting attorney is listed at $123,000 for 2027 rising to $132,000 by 2030. The resolution cites Article 14, Section 3 of the Wyoming Constitution and Wyo. Stat. §18-3-107 and §7-4-210(b) as governing authority.

Resolution 2026-010 sets compensation for county commissioners for Jan. 1, 2027 through Dec. 31, 2030 with schedules that vary by the election cycle of each commissioner (the recorded text lists one-commissioner and two-commissioner schedules and year-by-year amounts, with increases in later years). The minutes state that no county commissioner may receive more than the lowest compensation paid to certain county officers, consistent with Wyo. Stat. §18-3-107(c).

Both resolutions were approved by motion and roll call vote; Commissioners Hoff, Gosar and Chairperson Terri Jones recorded aye votes and the motions carried. The resolutions state salaries shall be paid in equal monthly installments and that elected officials are entitled to benefits available to other county employees.

The resolutions take effect for the listed terms beginning Jan. 1, 2027. The minutes record the salary tables in the resolution text; implementation will require county payroll adjustments and budgeting for the multi-year schedule.
