During public comment, Paul Smith asked whether commission service requires veteran status; Chairman Henry Korf said an acceptable DD214 is required. Secretary Mike Butler noted Commissioner Joy Briscoe will be entering another three-year term and referenced Iowa Code provisions that county board appointments are made in consultation with current commissioners and the director.
The commission set its next meeting for July 1, 2026, at 3 p.m. and adjourned at 4:56 p.m.
