Siegel said the town currently covers 100% of employees and dependents and that broker-provided alternatives showed either higher deductibles or more restricted provider networks at comparable prices, prompting the decision to stay with the existing Blue Cross Blue Shield plan for now. She said she intends to re-evaluate coverage levels and employee/dependent contributions during the next budget cycle.
A commissioner moved and the commission approved the renewal on a voice vote; no amendments or changes to contribution levels were adopted at the meeting.
