Central Lyon County Vector District Board approves $21,895 in July bills, hears pest-control report and discusses drone spraying contract

The board discussed a possible drone aerial spraying contract, including the possibility of forwarding a recommendation to the Central Lyon County Vector Control Board. The agenda item was listed for possible action, but no motion or vote on the contract was recorded at the meeting.
Tim Plants, manager for Integrity Pest Management, gave an operational report. Plants summarized river flows and a Blackflies update, reviewed mosquito light-trap results, and described ongoing larvicide and adulticide fogging efforts. He said applications to standing water and to the river were ongoing and reviewed mosquito life-cycle considerations relevant to timing of treatments.
The board announced one vacancy on the Central Lyon County Vector Board and provided application information (countyclerks@lyon-county.org, 775-463-6531). Chairman Minor presented an agenda for the next board meeting on August 11, 2026. There was no public participation during the meeting. Minor adjourned the meeting at 5:20 p.m.
Next steps: the board may consider the drone aerial spraying contract at a future meeting or forward a recommendation as discussed; no formal action on that contract was taken during this session.
