Residents urge action on Schoolhouse ramp railing; neighbors describe sober living activities at Bennetts property

During the public-comment portion of the May 14 meeting, Kathy Ataman of the Silver City Preservation Society asked that a missing hand railing on the Schoolhouse porch ramp be placed on the board’s next agenda after an email to Judge Smith went unanswered. Chair Melissa Friend confirmed the item would be agendized next month.
Keri Lowery and Andrew Lowery described activities at the Bennetts property, saying it currently houses a sober living operation, a food pantry and community events and that six people live there now. Secretary Erich Obermayr and other members paused further discussion until the matter could be properly placed on a future agenda; Ms. Lowery said the Lowerys had taken their plans through Lyon County Court.
