Mike Fraley, speaking during public comment as a representative of the American Legion, described the Legion's July 4 memorial event and other upcoming activities, including a weekend motorcycle show. He presented photos of a proposed mural for the west-facing wall of Knutson Hall (approximately 78 feet long by about 8'9 feet high where it meets the eave) and said the Legion would mount a framed vinyl mural over the existing siding and requested city review and feedback.
Fraley noted that prior landscaping (an Eagle Scout project) includes overgrown shrubs in front of the wall that will need attention or relocation to ensure the mural is visible, and he asked to meet with relevant staff and committees to advance the proposal. The committee heard the comment; there was no vote or formal action during public comment. Staff and interested council members agreed to review the materials and follow up.
