Interim director says school mental-health services and senior meals have expanded

Verhus said the foundation has served a total of 82 students in the current program year, including 62 at Enumclaw High School, nine at Enumclaw Middle School and 11 at Thunder Mountain, and that six high-school students have "graduated from therapy." She described a measurable improvement in behavioral-incident metrics between the 202425 and 202526 reporting periods and said the program saw a slight increase in average GPA (about 1.25 percent).
On senior meals, Verhus said the program currently serves about 66 seniors with three weekly deliveries (providing six meals per week), prepares roughly 400 meals from scratch each week, and relies on about 87 volunteers for prep, cooking and delivery. "We want to thank you for your support," she said, and invited council members to direct questions to the foundation or its former director, Sarah Stratton.
The presentation did not include a funding request on the council docket; Verhus emphasized continuity of services while the foundation searches for a permanent executive director.
