Poplar Bluff council adopts bond financing, repeals waiver and approves street vacation; multiple appointments confirmed

The Poplar Bluff City Council on June 1 approved three ordinances and adopted multiple resolutions making appointments to advisory boards.
The council unanimously adopted Bill No. 8693, authorizing issuance of taxable industrial revenue bonds for the Legacy Fasteners, LLC project in an amount not to exceed $2.5 million. The measure passed on first and second reading and was adopted by roll call vote with all seven members voting yes.
The council also unanimously adopted Bill No. 8694, which repealed Ordinance No. 24-07 relating to a waiver previously granted to Empire Comfort Systems, Inc. That bill passed both readings and was adopted by unanimous roll call.
Council members voted 4–3 to adopt Bill No. 8695, vacating a platted portion of Cross Street running north–south between Arthur and Nickey streets. The final roll call on that ordinance recorded yes votes from Cornman, Jones, Parson and Smith and no votes from Boyer, Horton and DePew.
In addition, the council adopted Resolutions No. 2070, 2071 and 2072 appointing members to a wide range of city boards and commissions, including the Airport Advisory Board, Municipal Utilities Advisory Board, Zoning Board of Adjustment, Tree Board, Residential Housing Advisory Board, Animal Control Advisory Board, Arts & Museum Advisory Board, Fair Housing Committee, Historical Preservation Commission, Housing Authority Board, Library Board of Trustees, Park Board, Planning & Zoning Commission, Disabilities Advisory Board, Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority, Black River Coliseum Advisory Board, Plumbing Board, Electrical Wiring Board, Building Standards Board and HVACR Board. Those resolutions passed by unanimous vote.
