Miss Miller presented the Lexington County School District 1 semiannual minority-business utilization report at the July 21 meeting.
She said that for the second period (01/01/2026 through 06/30/2026) "there was approximately $64,000 that was spent with minority firms," with 75 purchase orders issued to minority firms and 13 minority bids received. Miller also reported total expenditures applicable to procurement during that period of approximately $36,000,000.
Miller described the report as a requirement of the procurement code and said the board received a combined report covering two six‑month periods. Board members had no additional questions during the presentation.
The report provides a fiscal snapshot of small-dollar minority spending inside a much larger procurement picture; the presentation did not break down specific vendor names or the categories of goods and services covered by the minority spend.
