The Cuba City Council tabled discussion of a proposed food-truck policy after staff said legal counsel could not complete the review.
Todd, who identified himself on the record as representing All American Food Company, offered an alternative to per-event fees: raise the citywide business-license fee so food trucks could operate without a separate setup charge. "So my name is Todd, All American Food Company," he said, and argued that per-event charges could push vendors to relocate, reducing local tax revenue. Todd also noted practical issues with electricity: many vendor plugs are tied to pavilion lighting circuits rather than individual meters, which complicates per-event electric billing.
Chair thanked Todd for the input and said the council would retrieve the materials from legal counsel, discuss the points raised, and return to the issue. Staff and vendors discussed possible technical fixes such as installing metered outlets or automatic on/off controls to better track event electricity usage.
What happens next: The council will revisit the food-truck policy after legal counsel completes review and staff present options for electricity metering and fee structures.
