OPO Commission forms CBA subcommittee, cancels August meeting and seeks volunteers for community events

The Spokane Office of Police Ombuds Commission used the July 21 meeting to complete routine business: commissioners formed a collective-bargaining-agreement (CBA) subcommittee, canceled the August meeting, and heard staff requests to volunteer at upcoming community events.
A motion to create a CBA subcommittee passed by voice vote after commissioners named Commissioner Henry and Commissioner McCollum as the initial members. The commission also voted to cancel the regular Aug. 18 meeting to accommodate scheduling and an upcoming OPOC retreat and conference schedule.
Executive assistant Christina Cody invited commissioners to staff the OPOC booth at Unity in the Community on Aug. 15 (typically 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) in two-hour shifts and said she would circulate calendar invites and follow up about National Night Out (Aug. 4). Commissioners expressed willingness to help and noted scheduling constraints.
The meeting closed with brief commissioner remarks, thanks to staff for the closing report, and a reminder that the next regular meeting is Sept. 15.
