Riverview SD approves several finance and personnel items, adds iPad lease to the agenda

At its combined July meeting the Riverview SD board approved routine finance items covering change orders and invoices tied to the cafeteria project and facility updates, accepted several personnel hires, and added an Apple Education iPad three‑year lease-to-own proposal to the voting agenda.

Finance items a–e approved included: change order HC002 to K&K Mechanical for $781.84; Draw Collective construction-administration invoice for cafeteria work ($12,699.47); a Draw Collective invoice for high-school schematic-design ($30,000) (referenced in the Draw Collective schematic authorization); Pay Application #1 for Merit/Merrick Electric for $34,650 for cafeteria work; and a capital purchase request for signage updates to the Riverside Park scoreboard and the RHS cafeteria ($12,193.77). Board members asked for mockups and branding standards for scoreboard and field lettering; administration said mockups would be provided.

On personnel the superintendent presented multiple hires across certified and support roles (teachers, paras, custodians, long-term substitutes and coaches). The board approved personnel items a and c and authorized administration to proceed with hires listed in 21b on an interim basis pending required clearances; the board tabled one personnel list (21b) to allow further review while permitting administration to move forward conditionally.

The board also added the Apple Education price quote (19c) — a three-year lease and lease-to-own iPad proposal with AppleCare options — to the agenda. Members discussed whether the devices count as capital, AppleCare terms and device lifecycle; administration said AppleCare and lease details will be clarified in follow-up materials.
