Summary
After the Michigan DNR queried signage at the Norway kayak launch, the committee agreed the County should allow the state to manage maintenance and access because the site sits on state land and no lease is in place.

Jillian Clark, Support Services Office Manager, told the Properties Committee that the Michigan Department of Natural Resources visited the Norway kayak launch site and raised questions about signage there. Clark said she had no knowledge of the signage or any recent County visit to the site and that the DNR indicated the site is on state land and that no lease has been signed.
The committee agreed it would be best to allow the Michigan DNR to manage maintenance and public access at the Norway kayak launch given the site’s location on state land.
The committee recorded the action in its minutes and adjourned at 11:35 a.m.
