Sarah Whaley, representing Emergency Management, said the last update to the resolution was completed in 2019 and that terminology and definitions were revised for consistency with Public Act 390. Moses Sanzo, County Controller/Administrator, and Whaley described the authority and procedures for spending the contingency funds, emphasizing the restriction that funds be used only in declared emergencies or disasters.
The committee’s recommendation would authorize the chairman of the board or a designee to sign the document and direct the Chief Financial Officer to fund the Disaster Contingency Fund in the identified amount of $100,000. The committee recorded the motion in its draft minutes and forwarded the measure to the Full Board for final action; the minutes note the motion carried but do not specify a vote tally.
