Properties Committee approves ProQA fire dispatch and authorizes MPSCS payment

Jeff Satkowski, Lapeer County 9‑1‑1 Director, described how the earlier rollout of ProQA emergency medical dispatch improved quality assurance and said the county should expand to ProQA Emergency Fire Dispatch (EFD). The committee voted to recommend purchasing EFD from Priority Dispatch Corp. at a cost not to exceed $65,032.08, to be funded from the 911 millage account (482‑325‑977.000). Ongoing annual support costs will be charged to the 9‑1‑1 surcharge account (261‑325‑813.000). The motion was made by Ian Kempf and supported by Scott McMahan; the motion carried.
Satkowski also requested approval for the annual Michigan Public Safety Communication System (MPSCS) payment. The committee moved to authorize Central Dispatch to pay $71,674.79 from the 9‑1‑1 surcharge contracted services account (261‑325‑813.000). The motion notes the payment will be at no cost to the County General Fund; it was moved by Kempf, supported by McMahan, and carried.
The committee authorized the chairman to execute necessary agreements and directed the 9‑1‑1 Executive Director to pursue available grant offsets, including SNC training funds and the MMRMA RAP grant, for the ProQA implementation.
