Building & Grounds/Parks Director JT Anderson updated the Properties Committee on several facilities items. He said reuse of cubicles left from the State and stored on site represented a substantial cost saving for the CMH cubicle fit-out; the CMH Board has approved funds and Anderson presented mover quotes and next steps for relocating programs after renovation. No committee motion was necessary for the cubicle work at this time.
Anderson also presented a request for a new departmental position to address workload and organizational changes over the last six years. He suggested presenting the position as a one-year trial to demonstrate need and effectiveness; the personnel committee will review the request further.
On Torzewski Waterpark, Anderson described the possibility of bringing in a new pool contractor and discussed materials purchased by the current contractor and options to recover those materials; a review by the County, construction management team and the pool architect was set for the meeting day to determine accountability and next steps toward completion.
Administrative Project Manager Courtney Salet briefed the committee on options for a Household Hazardous Waste event, describing two possible Lapeer locations and multiple dates ERG is proposing; volunteers and service logistics were discussed.
The meeting adjourned at 12:23 p.m. following a motion by Commissioner Kevin Knisely supported by Commissioner Ian Kempf.
