Commissioner Ian Kempf told the Properties Committee Jan. 22 that Imlay City asked the county to auction a walk-in commercial refrigerator from the Imlay City Senior Center because ownership records could not be found; the committee agreed to send the item to auction and direct proceeds to the senior center.
Chairman Bryan Zender raised a separate item about the Friends of the Polly Ann Trail seeking authority status to assume responsibility for the trail’s annual maintenance grant. The committee discussed that if the Friends group becomes an authority, the county would need to determine whether any commissioners would serve on that authority. No formal motion to change the grant arrangement was made at the meeting.
