Brooke Sankiewicz, CEO of CMH, updated the Properties Committee Jan. 22 on renovations at the former DHHS building and said the committee had approved funds for a DSE swipe-card access system. Buildings & Grounds staff said DSE can integrate with existing hardware left by DHHS, which will lower costs.
Committee members discussed that the total project cost is higher than anticipated and explored outside assistance, including possible Region V support, and concerns about maintenance-of-effort and future interest rates. No new motion was required at the meeting; prior authorization allows JT Anderson, Bryan Zender or Moses Sanzo to sign off on projects to keep construction moving.
The committee requested continued oversight and further discussion of funding options as the project moves forward.
