Board extends director’s contract through transition as new director starts July 7

The Board of Library Trustees voted June 11 to extend Library Director Susan Edmonds’ contract through Monday, July 6, 2026, to allow for an orderly handoff as Harmony Birch assumes the director’s role on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. Trustee Edward Bertorelli moved the extension and Trustee Stephanie Abisla seconded; the motion passed. The transcript does not record roll-call vote tallies.

Under the board’s action, Edmonds’ salary remains at the current level through July 6; the board recorded that after July 7 Ms. Edmonds will be paid as a consultant and will assist with the transition.
