The Walworth Town Board voted June 18 to authorize the Town Supervisor to execute a professional services agreement with Sentry Mapping for ground-penetrating radar (GPR) surveys and digital mapping of town-owned cemeteries at a cost of $16,600.
The town solicited competitive proposals from three vendors: Sentry Mapping ($16,600), ViaVista Mapping ($28,375), and GeoModel, Inc. ($19,800). After reviewing scope and price, the board determined Sentry Mapping provided best value and authorized the Supervisor to sign the contract, with funding to come from the Records Management reserve (AA.00.1410.485).
Town Clerk Nadine Seppeler noted the Cemetery Committee met June 9 and discussed a headstone-cleaning class led by Kaite DeRado scheduled for June 20 at West Walworth Cemetery and that the committee expects to have final approval of the GPR project at the current meeting. The board adopted the Sentry Mapping agreement by roll call vote.
