The Lapeer County Properties Committee voted Jan. 22 to recommend that the Full Board remove County Administrator/Controller Moses Sanzo and Buildings & Grounds/Parks Director JT Anderson as voting members of the committee, a change intended to keep voting authority limited to elected commissioners.
Sanzo requested the change during the administration portion of the meeting, saying voting membership should be just commissioners to maintain consistency across subcommittees. Commissioner Ian Kempf noted that committee chairs remain able to make or second motions despite the change. The committee approved a motion by Commissioner Kevin Knisely, supported by Kempf, to forward the recommendation to the Full Board. The motion carried; a vote tally was not specified.
