The Walworth Town Board on June 18 voted to authorize a Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) for the New York State DEC Non-Agricultural Nonpoint Source MS4 Stormwater Mapping Grant and approved engaging MRB Group to prepare the grant application and related documents.
Council members said the grant’s technical and administrative requirements require specialized expertise the town lacks internally. The Town Engineer explained that state budget delays produced late guidance and no extension was available for the submission deadline; the board agreed the MRB proposal will allow the town to meet program requirements and timing.
Resolution 130-26 authorized the Town Supervisor to sign the MS4 Mapping Grant proposal and related documents; Resolution 131-26 affirmed the town’s commitment to provide at least a 10% local match, in cash or in-kind, funded from AA.00.8140.405 MS4 - GIS MAPPING if awarded. Both resolutions passed on roll call votes.
Board members described the project as a priority to comply with changing MS4 General Permit requirements and to complete comprehensive stormwater mapping of town-controlled drainage infrastructure. The board instructed staff to coordinate MRB’s scope with the supervisor and the town engineer and authorized the supervisor to execute the proposal.
