Saint Luke’s mobile clinic says parish grant funds prescriptions, fuel and clinic supplies

Tammy Fleetwood, executive director of Saint Luke’s Episcopal Mobile Medical Ministry, told commissioners that the ministry’s mobile clinic provides preventive care and fills a gap for medically underserved people around Caddo Parish.
Fleetwood said the van runs screening and provider clinics — checking blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol, offering rapid testing for HIV, hepatitis and syphilis, and, at provider clinics, providing prescriptions filled and distributed through partner shelters. She reported about 1,816 visits last year and said the ministry served 146 people experiencing homelessness.
Commission funding, Fleetwood said, helps pay for prescription medications, van fuel, testing supplies and other clinic necessities. She described the ministry’s regular sites (about 16 regular locations) and an average of 20–25 clinics per month, and urged volunteers, medical professionals and donors to support the program.
Commission members praised the program’s reach and offered to help the ministry identify additional resources and volunteers; no formal appropriation decision was made during the showcase.
