Presenters explain adaptive management approach; say HCP monitoring will be evaluated with federal services and publicly reported

The presenter said chapter 4 of the draft plan includes new guidance on decision authority and vision—"who has the eventual, like, the power to change things and what the process is"—and that the flavor of adaptive management will vary across topics.
On the HCP specifically, the presenter said HCP adaptive management is "the most detailed process" with the "least amount of decision space and least amount of input from SAC." The presenter described the typical cycle—assessment, implementation (including ITPs), monitoring, evaluation and adjustment—and said the evaluation and adjustment will mainly occur between the HCP administrator and the Federal Services, with monitoring information also provided as public reporting.
The presenter solicited feedback from committee members on where the committee should fit in and how the department should report monitoring outputs, saying the department is still figuring out the best way to present these monitoring components and invited examples of dashboards or online reporting tools.
Next steps: staff asked committee members to provide examples of online reporting systems and indicated the department will continue defining decision authority and reporting processes for adaptive management and HCP monitoring.
