Select Board selects Northpointe Construction as Town Hall project manager and authorizes Andrea to sign agreement

The Brookline Select Board approved Northpointe Construction (Hudson, N.H.) to serve as project manager for the town's Town Hall project and authorized a town official, identified in the meeting as 'Andrea,' to sign the company’s letter of agreement.

Chair said the board chose Northpointe for its municipal and commercial experience and noted the firm had already reached out to town staff to begin work. The chair asked the board to authorize Andrea to sign the letter of agreement and the related letter of engagement; on a motion moved by Ed and seconded by Terry the board approved the authorization.

Board members said a kickoff meeting will be needed to review contract details and decide which contract components the town wants to proceed with; the chair also said there will likely be adjustments to the contract after that kickoff discussion. One member proposed holding a kickoff session separate from a regular select board meeting so staff and contractors have adequate time for technical discussions.

No schedule change for the Town Hall project manager selection was announced at the time of the meeting beyond Northpointe’s initial contact; the chair asked Northpointe to update the letter with the proper signer’s name before execution. The board approved the authorization to sign and instructed staff to coordinate the kickoff meeting and follow-up contract revisions.

Next steps: staff to request an updated letter of agreement naming Andrea as signer, schedule a kickoff meeting to finalize scope details, and report back to the board on any material contract amendments.
