CRA board votes to submit Golf High School nomination to Florida Trust’s '11 to Save'

Board members asked whether inclusion on the '11 to Save' list would obligate the city; staff and a resident who had participated previously (Dr. Phillips) explained that listing is primarily promotional and makes a property eligible for grant opportunities but does not require the city to accept grants or place permanent restrictions. "You're not committed to do anything," Dr. Phillips said, describing the nomination as a way to gain exposure and potential grant opportunities.
Directors moved and seconded a motion to direct staff to submit the nomination application; the motion passed on a unanimous voice vote. Board members asked that staff coordinate with legal counsel on any follow‑up steps and said the nomination could open doors for future preservation funding without binding the city to a subsequent commitment.
