On July 8 the Bedford County Board of Commissioners approved routine financial and personnel items.
Commissioner Deb Baughman moved and Commissioner Winck seconded approval of expenditures and payroll as presented. The board recorded payroll totals including $426,884.28 (payroll 6/13/25) and $411,696.05 (payroll 6/25/25) and approved general disbursements and program payments listed in the meeting packet.
The commissioners also approved a list of personnel actions submitted by department heads for July 2025. New hires recorded included Laneah Bowen (Field Assessor 1, Tax Assessment), multiple full‑time corrections officers with effective dates in June and July 2025, and administrative hires in the Sheriff’s Office and Juvenile Probation Office. The board recorded transfers and separations as listed in the packet.
All motions were approved by recorded unanimous votes of the two attending commissioners. The meeting adjourned at 10:16 a.m.
