Commissioners approve juvenile services agreements, state CWIS data‑sharing and MATP contract

The Bedford County Board of Commissioners on July 8 approved multiple agreements affecting child welfare and juvenile services.
Commissioner Deb Baughman moved and Commissioner Winck seconded approval of a Purchase of Service Agreement for juvenile detention services between Bedford County (on behalf of juvenile court) and Jefferson County Juvenile Detention Center, effective July 1, 2025–June 30, 2026. The motion was based on a recommendation from Chris Gresko, Administrator for Bedford County Children and Youth Services, and was approved.
The board also approved the Child Welfare Information System (CWIS) data‑sharing agreement between the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and county Children and Youth Agencies, effective Oct. 1, 2025–Sept. 30, 2026. Solicitor Dean Crabtree reviewed and approved the agreement; Chris Gresko provided an overview of the state program.
On recommendation from Wendy Melius, executive director of the Center for Community Action, the commissioners approved the Medical Assistance Transportation Program (MATP) agreement between Bedford County and CCA for July 1, 2025–June 30, 2026; Melius described the contract as a standard agreement and summarized CCA's compliance process.
Each motion was approved by recorded unanimous action of the two attending commissioners. The board also approved a Purchase of Service Agreement between Bedford County Children & Youth Services and the Bedford County Juvenile Probation Office covering July 1, 2024–June 30, 2025, as presented by Gresko. The meeting adjourned at 10:16 a.m.
