Anamosa council approves CDBG contract, ratifies police union tentative agreement and okays purchases; hotel/motel grant awards deferred

The Anamosa City Council at its Feb. 9, 2026 meeting approved multiple motions including the award of a contract for Phase 3 of the CDBG Downtown Façade Revitalization Project, ratification of a tentative agreement with Teamsters Local 238 representing the Anamosa Police Department, purchase of a replacement Flygt pump for the Public Utilities Department, and corrected consent pay requests totaling $239,371.45. A public hearing on the CDBG Phase 3 plans and specifications was opened and closed during the meeting with no public comment; the council then approved the plans and contract by motion of Brian Hurt, seconded by Rich Crump. The roll-call vote approving the contract recorded ayes from Tim Shada, Todd Weimer, Dan Smith, Rich Crump, Kay Smith and Brian Hurt.
Council later approved Resolution 2026-06, ratifying the tentative agreement with Teamsters Local 238 for the Anamosa Police Department. The motion to ratify, offered by Dan Smith and seconded by Rich Crump, carried by roll vote with all recorded ayes.
