District leaders described growing partnerships with Rogue Community College that expand early‑college options and career‑technical education for Grants Pass SD 7 students. Administrators said a land swap with RCC yielded funding to support more early college enrollment and that RCC instructors are teaching on district campuses for some cohorts.
Pam McMilton and other staff described the dental‑assisting program that began this winter term after state approval delays, with several juniors and high‑school students enrolled in 1–2 credit courses and a pathway that could lead to a certificate by graduation. Staff also cited a grant partnership for a drone pilot class and a CDL training opportunity for one Gladiola student, and said they are piloting internships for Gladiola students tied to RCC industry partners.
Staff explained the dual‑credit approach: when the district pays for a college course, students receive an RCC transcript and the district will automatically transcript the credit to the high school. The district also described supports (an RCC mentor checking in with students) to help students navigate college expectations while still in high school.
