"We had our first meeting for a grandstand project with the architecture firm yesterday," Jamie said, adding the firm will deliver a phase‑1 schematic and a budgetary proposal for the fair board to review. Jamie also said the county expects to explore Phase 2 funding that could be worked into a roughly $700,000 allocation. Jamie also reported a planned inspection of a Kardex machine and ongoing repairs to equipment that had been moved and damaged.
Jamie told commissioners the jail received a favorable fire-marshal inspection. "They had zero violations at the jail," Jamie said, and thanked maintenance staff for their work.
The clerk announced a single bid for Brown County CR 27 concrete box beams: a $109,236 bid from Prestress Services Industries of Ohio of Grove City. The chair moved to "hold the bid," and the motion passed. During discussion a presenter noted that PSI appears to be the only local firm able to manufacture the prestressed beams and ramps required for the project.
