The El Dorado City Commission on May 4 approved a resolution to schedule a public hearing for 5:30 p.m. July 6, 2026, to consider abatement or demolition of four properties identified as dangerous structures.
Staff said the addresses — 230 North Jones St., 109 South Poplar St., 1241 South Sheldon St., and 1118 West Towanda Ave. — have histories of code-compliance issues and that the hearing will allow owners or lienholders to appear and show cause why structures should not be condemned, repaired or demolished. Staff recommended certified-mail notice to owners and lienholders and said staff would also send letters urging owners to contact staff ahead of the hearing to try to resolve issues.
A commissioner moved the resolution, another seconded, and the commission approved the motion on a voice vote. The resolution sets the hearing date and directs staff to provide required notices and follow-up outreach to affected parties.
