Cudahy council approves two temporary liquor extensions, tables City Limits Fest parking request after business complaints

The Common Council approved two temporary extensions of premises and tabled a request related to a summer festival during its April 6 meeting.
Milo Basina of Orson’s Saloon requested permission to extend his premises and use Barnard Avenue between 3552 and 3558 Barnard Avenue for July 4, 2016. Ald. Moralez moved and Ald. Schissel seconded the motion to approve pending proper insurance paperwork. The minutes record Alderpersons Moralez, Schissel and Litkowiec voting "aye" and Alderperson Hollenbeck abstaining.
John Schulz requested a temporary extension for Light Palace Pub & Grill for June 18, 2016. A similar motion to approve passed with Moralez, Schissel and Litkowiec recorded as "aye" and Hollenbeck recorded as abstaining.
Separately, Salvatore Purpora of Papa Luigi’s said he lost business because event organizers did not communicate with nearby businesses. Alex Ahmad (transcript also appears as 'Alex Ahman') of City Lounge said the 2015 event was intended to promote the city. The council considered a request from Mr. Ahmad to use a city-owned parking lot at 3462 E. Squire Avenue for City Limits Fest 2016; Ald. Moralez moved, Ald. Schissel seconded, and the motion to table until the next meeting carried (Moralez, Schissel and Hollenbeck voted "aye", Ald. Litkowiec abstained).
