Glen Arbor election commissioners approve minutes, confirm tabulator accuracy in public tests

Chairperson Pam Laureto, the Glen Arbor Township clerk, called the Election Commission to order at 10:00 a.m. Monday and recorded that Supervisor Tom Laureto and Treasurer Don Lewis were present; no members of the public attended.
Supervisor Tom Laureto moved, and Treasurer Don Lewis supported, approval of the July 13, 2026 Election Commission meeting minutes as amended; the motion carried 3–0.
Clerk Pam Laureto then explained the Public Accuracy Test process the commission uses to verify tabulator performance before elections. The commissioners conducted the Public Accuracy Test on the Absent Voter Counting Board (AVCB) tabulator and on the precinct tabulator. For each machine they verified that ballot bins were empty, confirmed tabulator serial and seal numbers, ran a test deck and compared results with predetermined totals. The tests produced results that matched the expected outcomes and "no issues were identified," the minutes state.
Following the tests, the commissioners signed the tapes from both tabulators, completed the state-required Public Accuracy Test paperwork and sealed the tapes and documentation in a state-approved container.
There was no public comment during the meeting. The commission adjourned at 11:05 a.m.
