Town officials told the Board of Trustees on Dec. 17 that the fire department’s CHS CHS fuel card had been cloned and charged in excess of $5,000.
Town Administrator Shanon Pack reported the unauthorized charges to the trustees and said the town would pursue dispute procedures. "The fire department CHS fuel card was cloned and charged over $5,000," Pack said during the meeting.
Attorney Kim Spady told the board she would draft a letter to the card issuer or merchant to begin disputing the charges. The board did not take a formal vote on recovery steps during the meeting; staff and the town attorney will follow up on the dispute.
