Several trustees asked for project and cost-estimate reporting before work begins; Adam agreed to provide start dates, scope and estimated costs for each scheduled contractor engagement and to report back at the next regular meeting.
The board limited the expanded authority to road-related spending only and kept existing safeguards for other purchases. Trustees said the temporary increase is meant to let the town accelerate repairs on evacuation routes and high-traffic collector roads while staff develops longer-term procurement controls and scope definitions.
