Council approves creation of golf enterprise fund to track course revenues

The council voted to create enterprise fund number 2620 to account for cash revenues and expenses of the municipal golf course and clubhouse beginning Jan. 1, 2026. A council member said the motion should ‘‘create an enterprise fund number 2620 to account for the cash revenue and expenses of the golf course and clubhouse beginning 01/01/2026.’’ The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Council members described the change as an accounting step to keep golf-course finances separate from the general fund. The Chair noted staff will implement the new fund in the town’s accounting system and track revenue and expenses in that designated line. No further budget amendments were recorded during the discussion.
The council did not set additional policy changes for the golf operation in this meeting; members said staff will handle routine set-up and report back if further council action is required.
