Tangipahoa Parish fire district approves asset disposals, donation and monthly budget

The commissioners of T.P. Rural Fire Protection District No. 2 approved several administrative and financial actions at their July 28, 2025 meeting in Amite.
Brigette Hyde, president of T.P. Rural Fire Protection District No. 2, called the meeting to order. The board recorded Commissioners Darrell Sinagra, John Ingraffia, Louis Joseph, Joseph Havis, Buddy Ridgel, Joey Mayeaux, Lionell Wells and Strader Cieutat as present; Commissioner David Vial was absent.
The board adopted the minutes of its June 23, 2025 meeting after a motion by Commissioner Joseph Havis and a second from Commissioner Darrell Sinagra. The roll-call vote recorded YEA from every member present; Vial was absent.
Under Hammond Fire Matters the board approved declaring several vehicles surplus for disposal. Commissioner Havis moved and Commissioner Sinagra seconded approval to surplus assets #04987(3747), #04988(3747) and #04989(3706) as no longer usable; the motion passed by roll call. Later in the Hammond section, following remarks from Mr. Atkins about a listing discrepancy, the board approved a motion by Commissioner Joey Mayeaux, seconded by Commissioner Strader Cieutat, to surplus and donate one 2012 Ford Expedition (white), plate/ID 6281, Asset #04997 to the City of Hammond; that action also passed on roll call. The board then voted to rescind a prior February 24, 2025 action regarding a 2011 Ford Expedition (red), plate/ID 8029, Asset #04996, after Mr. Atkins stated the earlier information was incorrect; Commissioner Buddy Ridgel moved, Commissioner Joseph Havis seconded, and the motion carried.
In Kentwood Fire Matters the board authorized surplus and advertisement to sell one 2019 F550 (Asset #3588, plate 9436) on a motion by Commissioner Darrell Sinagra and a second from Commissioner Louis Joseph; the motion passed on roll call.
Commissioner Joseph Havis moved and Commissioner Joey Mayeaux seconded approval of the monthly budget and check register reports; the board voted to approve the financial reports with all present voting YEA and Commissioner Vial recorded as absent.
During commissioners' privileges the board offered condolences to Chief Polito and his family on the passing of his mother.
The meeting was adjourned after a motion by Commissioner Buddy Ridgel; the motion passed with no opposition. The minutes are signed by Secretary Jill DeSouge and President Brigette Hyde.
