Council approves sanitation hire, planning-and-zoning appointments and routine administrative designations

Council also approved appointments to the Freeman Planning and Zoning Committee, naming Charles Garing, Cooper, Penny Schmidt, Jan Verstucke, Steve Waltner and the mover (staff member) as committee members; the appointments were seconded and approved.
The council designated the Freeman Courier as the official newspaper for notices and confirmed bank designations for city funds, approving the motion on voice vote. Council further approved a travel request for an Economic Development Professionals Association conference in Pierre and authorized advertising for summer help.
On budget items, council approved the second reading to create a supplemental golf fund. Several of these items were routine and approved with motions, seconds and council assent.
